Yousmarg, Doodpathri without mobile connectivity, ATM services

Budgam, Sep 27: The lack of mobile connectivity and ATM services at the two famous tourist places in 's Budgam district has created hurdles for the visitors to remain in touch with the rest of the while visiting the place.

Locals from area said that famous tourist place Yousmarg and Doodpathri has no mobile tower and ATM machine which results tremendous hardships to those who visit the spots.

The residents from Yousmarg blamed the government for being unable to provide the facilities like good network coverage and ATMs.

Last time Advisor to Lt Governor Baseer Khan while on his yousmarg visit assured that mobile tower, ATM Machine and some other infrastructure will be given to destination but it has been nearly two months nothing has been done on ground. Locals said.

“Visitors always feel bored here as they complain about telecommunication problems, and lack of other facilities,” they said. “If the tourists here need money, they have to come down 15 kilometres to use an ATM.”

Locals said apart from the tourists, shepherds who visit the place to graze their flock, or employees from forest department or department too face the problems.

Similarly, locals from the Doodpathri area said that the lack of facilities turns tourists away from the destination.

The residents, while appealing to the administration to look into the matter and ensure mobile connectivity is made available at these places, said that none among the outside or local tourist opts to stay for night due to the lack of facilities—(KNO)
