Northlines News Desk | Jammu Tawi, August 28:Emboldened at the fall of Kabul in the hands of Taliban, the Pakistan based terror outfits were busy in consolidating their narco-terror network to push contrabands with men and material into Jammu and Kashmir, a couple of intelligence reports submitted to the Union Ministry of Home.
These reports have cautioned about the increased threat of narco-terrorism in J&K, as a backlash of recent developments in Afghanistan.
Sources said the agencies, in their multiple reports to the MHA, have said These terror groups were gathering and putting in place an elaborate plan with increased man-power to push banned nacro-substances across the border in J&K from their side.
The reports suggest that in the backdrop of Taliban capturing power in Afghanistan, the preparedness of “security and enforcement set-up” has to be taken to the next level, as these terror outfits along with the support of Taliban in neighbourhood “will heat up the Golden Crescent” for supply of drugs.
Golden Crescent is the opium-producing area that cuts across Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan and is one of the most important opium-producing centres of the world.
