Students should not suffer

Date:

Amid controversy over the alleged refusal by the J-K Board of School to accept the examination forms of the students belonging to private schools raised on state land, the helmsmen should ensure that not even a single student should suffer due to the aforesaid reason because this issue has nothing to do with the career of the young lads. It is imperative that the government ensures access to educational facilities for students pursuing studies in private schools, even in instances of non-compliance by these schools, because the focus should always remain on the well-being and education of the students.

It is pertinent to mention that the several political parties in have alleged that authorities are not accepting class 10 examination forms from students of private schools established on state land although the charge has been denied outrightly by the J-K Board of School Education. The matter needs to be followed and looked after by the concerned quarters as on one side the JKBOSE is claiming that the allegations are unfounded but on the other media reports have been suggesting that students are in limbo after the aforesaid Board refused to accept examination forms from students of class 10 enrolled in private schools established on state land.

Of course the statement given by the JKBOSE Chairman in this regard is quite apt that the students should not deviate themselves from preparing for examinations as there is no weight in the allegations for the same being baseless. It is strange that almost all the main political parties' leaders have started objecting to the issue which as per the concerned official viz Chairman JKBOSE is far from reality. It is pertinent to mention that

and Kashmir Administration in 2022 had amended the rules under the Education Act, 2002, to provide for fresh guidelines relating to the use of land and building structures by private schools in the Union Territory.

Reportedly, it had ordered that all those private schools which are established on the state land should close the schooling of the enrolled children with immediate effect and issue school leaving certificates to students so that they could be accommodated in government schools subject to their parent's consent.

However, the private school proprietors collectively sought relief from the Jammu and Kashmir and High Court where they secured a stay on the government's order.

As the JKBOSE has rejected the media report, the controversy should have been put at rest but the reactions and responses by the Kashmiri political leadership in the matter seems to be mysterious as one can gauge well that they want political mileage out of nothing because the controversy should end when the helmsman of JKBOSE has himself refuted the allegations leveled in a media report and assured that all the students will appear in class tenth exams irrespective of the status of the buildings of their schools, as one could infer from the statement of the helmsman of JKBOSE published in print media.
