Former India batsman and star commentator Sanjay Manjrekar was involved in an a war of words with Sania Mirza after he took a dig at her doubles ranking.
Mirza, who had stormed to the top of the WTA doubles rankings with former partner Martina Hingis, reached her 80th week at the Numero Uno position and tweeted to mark the momentous occasion.
While Bollywood celebrities like Shabana Azmi, Vishal Dadlani congratulated Mirza, Manjrekar reminded her that the rankings were for the doubles category. (Sania Mirza-Barbora Strycova win Pan Pacific doubles title)
What followed was a heated exchange on Twitter and Manjrekar, a brilliant technician in his heydays, was forced to leave several deliveries outside the off-stump.

Sania and Martina, dubbed Santina, won 41 successive matches and lifted 13 titles in a year before the duo parted ways earlier this year. Mirza then joined forces with Barbora Strycova win the Cincinnati Open final.
