Baridar bodies stake claim for representation on Board

Katra, July 22 : As the Government announced reorganisation of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, it is assumed that the Board will be formed afresh on the lines of other Shrine Board of wherein local public representatives and Baridars will also get representation in it.

Pertinently, several newly formed organisations of the Baridars are staking claim for the representation in the proposed re-organised Board.

In this context, Seva Committee Baridaran Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra (SCBSMVD) – an organization of the Baridars Wednesday organised a press conference over the issue of reorganization of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board.

Addressing the conference members of the organisation hailed the Central Government for sympathetic consideration of the rights to the Bariadars.

The committee members including Pradhan Rachpal Singh, Karnail Singh, Pappu Lalki, Kabla Singh, Ramesh Kumar, Rana Smotra, Joginder Singh, Vijay Kumar, Ajay Smotra, Sanjeev Smotra, Neelam Singh and Kartar Singh said that the organisation have fighting for the rights of the Baridars for the last 34 years.

The members urged the central government for considering the role of the organisation and kindly include them as member in the new board so that the organisation would be able to work for the welfare of the Baridars

Meanwhile, another organisation – Bardari Sangharsh Committee in a press conference organised staked claim for the membership in the re-organised board.

While addressing the conference Members of the committee including Sham Singh, Vishal Smotra, Kuldeep Singh, Mandav Smotra, Shankar Singh, Ratan Singh and Sudarshan Singh appreciated the reorganization of the Shrine Board.

The members urged government of India to grant rights to the Baridars as per other Shrines and religious places in the country. The members reiterated to continue their fight until the rights of the Baridars and urged authorities to consider their case as a legitimate one.
