Randeep Hooda, who debuted as a director with Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, recalls facing financial challenges during the making of the biopic, for which he sold his properties.
Actor Randeep Hooda's recent film, Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, with which he also made his directorial debut, opened to muted response from critics and audiences, although it performed well in the state of Maharashtra. Randeep has spoken about the financial challenges he faced while filming the biopic, revealing that he sold his Mumbai flats to fund the project.
While speaking with Bollywood Bubble, the actor revealed that the film's box office figures have helped him recover the money he invested in the film by selling his properties. “Thankfully, we have been able to make enough money. We've made it back and some more. We are in plus and have managed to break even. I now joke with my dad asking him to buy more properties so that I could sell them for my next film. Agli picture mein kaam ayega (We will mortgage it when I am making my next film).”
