RAMBAN, April 20: Journalist Association Ramban (JAR) strongly condemned the behavior of a senior police officer with a local reporter at DPL Ramban during police recruitment at DPL Ramban.

An emergency meeting of Journalist Association Ramban was held presided over by Mr. Mohammad Wani in which the issue of misbehaving with a reporter of News Nation news channel Shubam Anthal was taken up. He was allegedly misbehaved by DIG Deepak Salathia, who was assigned the duty for recruitment of constables at District Police Line (DPL) Ramban.

During the constable recruitment at DPL Ramban the said reporter Shubam requested DIG for official byte regarding recruitment process and in reply DIG said “Baki journalist ko b aane do, yaha aa kr apne kya ahsaan kiya hai humpar. Shubam Anthal said his news footage was also deleted later after using a local officer for same.

The JAR meeting said this attitude is unfortunate and showed that the DIG did not even know how to talk to media person then one can imagine his behaviour towards thousands of participants coming for recruitment of constables.

After the incident the whole matters was brought into the notice of IGP SD Jamwal who assured to look into the matter.
