Jammu, Jan 23: Jammu Police have launched a legal probe after a fake Facebook account was discovered under the name of Additional Director General Police (ADGP) Jammu, Anand Jain. The account, which featured a profile picture of the ADGP, falsely claimed to be associated with the “Department Jammu & Kashmir ADGP, Director, Fire & Emergency Services, J&K.”
A police spokesperson condemned the creation of the fraudulent account, urging the public to remain cautious and avoid engaging with messages, friend requests, or solicitations from the fake profile. Such scams have previously resulted in financial and emotional harm to victims.
The ADGP expressed serious concern over the incident, calling it a deliberate attempt to mislead and deceive the public, and emphasized that legal action would be pursued against those responsible for the fraud.
