Pathankot attack derailed dialogue: CM
‘Scope of Kashmir's aspirations within constitutions of JK, India'
Jammu, Jan 10 (KNS): Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti here on Tuesday said that aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir can be accommodated within the constitution of Jammu and Kashmir and constitution of India.
According to KNS Correspondent, replying to debate on Governor's address Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti said the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir as once declared by former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed can be addressed from the floor of the State assembly.
Saying that the constitution of Jammu and Kashmir and as well as the constitution of India are broader enough to accommodate the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, Mehbooba said the Agenda of Alliance is similar to what has been recommended in the working groups constituted during the erstwhile PDP-Congress coalition government. Chief Minister said the Agenda of Alliance is in no way different from the Common Minimum Programme on which the PDP-Congress coalition government was run for full year six year term.
Saying that all agree what has been mentioned in both the Common Minimum Programme and the Agenda of Alliance, Chief Minister said India and Pakistan have to live as friendly neighbors.
Referring to the Vajpayee policy in Kashmir, Chief Minister said while former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh did not visit Pakistan even once during his ten year long Prime Ministerial tenure the incumbent Prime Minister Narendra Modi was generous and courageous enough to travel to Pakistan to show his good will gesture to his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Shareef but unfortunately Pathankot attack derailed the process of goodwill which would have let resumption of Indo-Pak dialogue.
