Mamta Banerjee's recent remarks threatening of “Bloodbath and Civil War” has forced the saner element in country to term her as an Accentric, who often ferociously reacts to anything which she percieves hit her consolidated vote bank of Muslims in West Bengal.
It was her loose argument that those staying here for 100, 200, 30 years cannot be ousted from the country. Resorting to hyperbole, she accused the BJP of questioning the ‘Indianness of Indians.' She failed to understand that the NRC has 1971 as cut-off date and not 100 or 200 years as she loosely talks.
The NRC is not any new exercise. NRC was conceived and agreed by the central leadership under Assam Accord signed between AASU, AGP and the Central Government led by late Rajiv Gandhi according to which illegal immigrants from Bangladesh were to be identified.
Further, the present exercise is the outcome of Supreme Court's direction that it gave in a PIL filed in 2009 by an NGO from Assam.
Why these gang of pseudo-secular brigade always come out vocally to oppose the initiatives in national interests even if those were taken under the writ of the Apex Court of India. Nowhere in the world, would citizens of any particular country tolerate the influx of illegal migrants and they would not oppose identification of illegal immigrants entering into their land except India for petty politics to remain in power on the strength of these very illegal immigrants. There is no harm in identifying illegal migrants in our country as it belongs to Indians first! Alas! It happens only in India.
