One dies of Covid, 166 fresh cases in J&K

    Jammu Tawi, Aug 27 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir Friday witnessed one death and 166 fresh positive cases taking the number of total active cases in the Union Territory to 1,149.

    With one more death, the death toll in the UT has reached to 4,405 and 166 fresh positive cases reported on Friday has pushed the tally of positive cases to 324,813.

    Among 166 new cases, 112 belong to Kashmir division while as 44 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 201,891 including 198,846 recoveries and 2,241 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 122,922 including 120,413 recoveries and 2,164 deaths.

    Of the exact number of 324,813 cases, 201,891 are from Kashmir division and 122,922 from Jammu division. The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,149 including 804 from Kashmir division and 345 from Jammu division.

    With 76 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 319,259 which is 98.30 percent of the total cases.

    “Cases tested positive in J&K include 44 from Jammu division include 09 from Jammu, 01 from Udhampur, 02 from Rajouri, 10 from Doda, 02 from Kathua, 00 from Samba, 17 from Kishtwar, 02 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 01 from Reasi while as 57 from Srinagar, 16 from Baramulla, 19 from Budgam, 02 from Pulwama, 06 from Kupwara, 01 from Anantnag, 03 from Bandipora, 17 from Ganderbal, 01 from Kulgam and 00 from Shopian in Kashmir division,” officials disclosed.

    Meanwhile, authorities on Friday said that no fresh cases of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and tally reaches to 44.
