Mayor, Comm JMC visit garbage dumping site

Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor JMC, Pankaj Magotra, Commissioner, JMC along with Municipal Veterinary Officer, Chief Transport Officer, Officer, JMC and other officials visited the garbage dumping site at Kot Bhalwal. During the visit, Mayor and Commissioner, JMC planted a tree and directed officers of JMC for undertaking extensive plantation along the periphery of the dumping site to beautify the site. Instructions were also imparted to increase the strength of Rag pickers on the site to facilitate removal of reusable non-bio degradable material as to reduce the quantity of garbage to be handled at the landfill site.
The site incharge was asked to construct temporary sheds for Shelter and provide facilities of water, electricity, etc. for the rag pickers and ensure that they take proper safety precautions by wearing like mask, gloves and caps etc while handling garbage at site. On spot instructions were given to the Engineering Wing to secure the land by fencing the whole boundary to avoid against possible encroachment.
