It is really a matter of grave concern that despite number of police Nakas along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway popularly known as NH 44, the vehicles laden with bovine animals reach Ramban District as a report has claimed that over the past three weeks, nineteen different vehicles have been intercepted by various police teams in the district rescuing 375 bovines.
Had the cops in the districts coming prior to Ramban district on Jammu Srinagar National Highway would have been doing their task seriously it would not have been possible for the animal smugglers to reach Ramban with bovine-laden vehicles.
The issue is vital as Jammu and Kashmir is still infested with the terrorism and such kind of complacency is not at all advisable for the men in Khaki, having responsibility to safeguard the life and property of the citizenry. It is a big question that when Ramban Police can catch the bovine rustlers then why not others.
It is pertinent to mention that over the past three weeks, nineteen different vehicles have been intercepted by various police teams enroute from Jammu to Srinagar and upon inspection, they were found to be loaded with a total of 375 bovine animals.
Reportedly, the Ramban Police is dedicated to taking every possible step to combat the issue of bovine smuggling and encourages the public to share information about such activities with the police for timely intervention.
The need of the hour is to shun the lethargy and remain always on tenterhooks to stop this crime which is thriving in J&K. Cops should take cue from actions carried out by Ramban Police to end this crime from all the districts in J&K, which is imperative for implementing law and order.
