    Kashmir University Alumni Meet: LG Sinha urges KU alumni to strengthen J&K’s progress

    Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday addressed the Mega Alumni Meet–2025 at the University of Kashmir, celebrating its 77-year legacy. The event was graced by Chief Justice of India B.R. Gavai, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, Supreme Court judges, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, and other dignitaries.

    “Alumni is not just a network of former students, but a network of human potential which is dedicated towards nation building.

    Today, we are honoured to have among us the alumni who have truly made the nation proud. They are a living testament to the 77-year legacy of Kashmir University,” he said.

    The LG commended the university for nurturing generations of leaders and professionals and urged distinguished alumni to contribute to the institution’s growth. “Alumni are a powerful network of human potential for nation-building,” he said, emphasizing the need to support students through mentorship and career opportunities.

    Sinha stressed on institutionalizing alumni engagement and promoting the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. He praised the university’s innovative “Design Your Own Degree” program and congratulated it for achieving an A++ NAAC grade.

    Distinguished alumni, including Dr. Karan Singh, Ghulam Nabi Azad, and Mian Altaf Ahmad, were felicitated for their contributions.

    Justice Surya Kant; Judge Supreme Court, Justice Vikram Nath; Judge Supreme Court, Justice PS Narasimha; Judge Supreme Court, Justice Pankaj Mithal; Judge Supreme Court, Justice Rajesh Bindal; Chief Justice, High Court of J&K and Ladakh, Justice Arun Palli; Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah; Former Chief Justice of J&K and Ladakh High Court, Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey; Vice Chancellor, Kashmir University, Prof. Nilofer Khan and distinguished alumni of University of Kashmir graced the occasion.
