Kashmir: Another 3 months detention for Mehbooba, Madni, Sagar

Northlines Correspondent | Tawi | May 5: Against the expectations and predictions of the curious lot of and elsewhere People Democratic Party's Chief Mehboob Mufti will get to live another 3 months under PSA detention, top Government sources have revealed.

The Public Safety Act against former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti was extended by three months on Tuesday, officials said.

In the order, District Magistrate Srinagar handed over the continuation of her custody at her residence, hours before her present term under the PSA was to expire.

Besides her, the detention of PDP Leader Sartaj Madni and Conference's leader Ali Mohd Sagar has also been extended by 3 months.

Mehbooba was initially detained on August 5 last year when the Centre abrogated special status of the erstwhile state and bifurcated it into two union territories — , and Jammu and Kashmir.

She was shifted to her home on April 7 as a partial relief to her.
