Newly appointed Working President of J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Raman Bhalla was accorded rousing reception today at the PCC HQ Jammu by the Congress leaders and workers led by PCC Chief G.A. Mir.
Addressing the gathering President JKPCC G. A. Mir welcomed the decision of party high command to appoint Raman Bhalla as Working President, as he is a hard working leader of the party, remains amongst the people in thick and thin and all weather leader of the people. He said that for the past quite some time consultations were going on at various levels to further strengthen the organization and gear up activities, especially in Jammu region. He said that various such decisions were on the pipe line and hope that his appointment will further boost the activities of the party in Jammu region and expose the failures of BJP.
He thanked Congress President Smt. Sonia Gandhi, Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi, AICC General Secretary K.C.Venugopal and AICC Incharge J&K Affairs Smt. Rajni Patel for acceding to the proposal.
Raman Bhalla in his address thanked the leaders and workers for their rousing reception and expressed gratitude to Congress High Command and JKPCC President G.A Mir for trusting him and giving him opportunity to further serve the party and the people. He said that he will leave no stone unturned to come up to the expectations of Congress leadership and the workers and would exposed the betrayal of ruling BJP to people of Jammu region. He said that BJP has cheated each and every sections of society by ‘jhumlas’ and false promises.
He said that BJP government downgraded the status, dignity and identity of the Dogra State and deprived the youth of Right to Job, while the daily wagers and other temporary employees and others are suffering. He said that Congress party will fight relentlessly for the rights of people of each and every section and every region against the wrong policies of BJP.
Ravinder Sharma, Yogesh Sawhney, Manmohan Singh, Hari Singh Chib, Udhey Bhanu Chib, Sunny Parihar also spoke on the occasion and welcomed Raman Bhalla.
Earlier, the Congress workers and supporters of Raman Bhalla took him from his residence Trikuta Nagar upto PCC Head Quarter Shaheedi Chowk in cavalcade of vehicle and motorcycles carrying play cards, banners and raising slogans in favour of Congress High Command and PCC Chief.
