JKBOSE withdraws Text Books with offensive material

Srinagar, Dec 23: and Board of School (JKBOSE) on Thursday directed all the institutions across Jammu and Kashmir and Union Territories not to use textbooks having some objectionable material.

JKBOSE in a notificationissued in this regard, has condemned the act of publication of certain material that has hurt the sentiments of people.

It also directed the convened publishers to withdraw these textbooks immediately from all the schools.

The J&KBOSE has warned of strict action as warranted under provisions of law if the textbooks are used in any school.

“All the institutions of U.T of Jammu & Kashmir and U.T of Ladakh affiliated either with CBSE, JKBOSE or any other recognized Board of the country are directed not to use textbooks of “Dareechae-Urdu” for dass 5th published by Oscar Publications Pvt. Ltd., Karan Nagar, Srinagar and ‘Mehboob Urdu' for Class 3rd and 5th published by Franklin International, New Delhi and if the textbooks are being used in any school, those must be withdrawn immediately, otherwise strict action as warranted under provisions of law shall be initiated,” the notification reads.

 

“While condemning the act of publication of certain material that has hurt the sentiments of the people, the concerned publishers are directed to withdraw these textbooks immediately from all the schools wherever these have been distributed,” it added.
