Srinagar, Sep 22: A Lumberdar, employed in the revenue department of Jammu and Kashmir administration, has been disengaged from his duties for the violation of Model Code Conduct (MCC) in Baramulla district on Sunday, officials said.

In a decisive step to uphold the integrity of the electoral process in Uri Assembly Constituency, Tehsildar Boniyar has disengaged a Lumberdar of Pehlipora, Ubaid Ahmed Khan, from his duties with immediate effect for the violation of the MCC.

This action follows the confirmed reports that Khan was actively participating in election campaign of a political party, as a clear violation of the MCC, an official spokesman said on Sunday.
