In Jammu and Kashmir, the Election Commission through the District Election officers has acted against violators of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) that is in force since the announcement of Lok Sabha elections on March 10.
The action includes suspension of six employees in J&K for violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).
Besides, over a dozen govt officials have been put under suspension for violating the Code in various forms including campaigning for political parties and also some allegedly derailing the election process.
The Election Department sources said that over a 100 complaints relating to MCC violations have been received by the District Election officers and the Chief Electoral Officer out of which at least 50 were disposed off while rest await
