Jammu Triage Desk to screen COVID patients for hospitalization

    Jammu Tawi, Apr 29: In a bid to streamline the hospital needs, Divisional administration Jammu launched Triage facility set for screening of COVID patients requiring hospitalization.

    Raghav Langar issued an order in this regard that reads that in view of the increasing COVID-19 cases there has been corresponding increase in the bed occupancy in Government Level-I COVID are set up in Government Medical College Jammu and other Associated Hospitals.

    However, apart from there referrals from other district, COVID positive patients on walk-in basis are also reporting directly to GMC, officials said.

    They said that accordingly, in view of the limited Isolation/ICU/ beds in Level-I there needs to be rat1onalizat1on of the admission of COVID positive cases in GMC & dedicated COVID Hospitals under Directorate of Health Services Jammu•

    As such COVID-19 Triage facility ordered to be setup in Chest Disease Hospital (CD Hospital) Jammu which shall act as first contact point for screening of any COVID patient intending to get admitted in GMC Jammu & Associated Hospitals and other identified dedicated COVID Hospitals under Directorate of Health Services Jammu, the officials said.

    They said that the facility will work under the supervision of Medical Superintendent CD Hospital Jammu and a senior officer shall be nominated from Directorate of Health Services Jammu to provide necessary co­ordination in the triaging and rationalization of adm1ss1on of such COVID positive patients.

    Officials said that the Nodal Officer shall also dedicate the landline as well as mobile number for such patients. The said Triage Facility shall immediately come into effect.
