Jammu Tawi: Prerna Bhasin, a daughter of Jammu, has successfully earned a Master’s degree in Information Technology along with a Diploma in Cyber Security from Central Queensland University in Brisbane, Australia, bringing pride and joy to her family and well-wishers.
Prerna had travelled to Australia in 2022 to pursue a two-year postgraduate programme at the world-renowned Central Queensland University. After completing her studies, she was awarded the Master’s degree and graduation diploma by the university in 2024.
She received her primary education from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, and later completed her graduation from Lovely Professional University (LPU), Jalandhar, Punjab. Prerna had earlier secured high grades in the non-medical stream, following which she was admitted to LPU to study Computer Science.
After completing her graduation, she worked for nearly a year with a private institution in Jalandhar, contributing to projects related to the creation of technical blogs while preparing for higher studies abroad.
In September 2022, Prerna received admission along with a scholarship to pursue her master’s programme at the university in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. After completing the two-year course, she was conferred the Master’s degree.
A notable aspect of her academic journey is that she pursued her studies without taking any extra tuitions throughout her education.
Prerna is the daughter of Parveen Bhasin and Rama Bhasin, residents of Jammu who are presently living in Jalandhar. Her younger brother has also completed his graduation and plans to pursue a Master’s degree while exploring job opportunities.
Her parents said that Prerna had decided during her school days to pursue higher education abroad and worked tirelessly to achieve her goal without professional coaching or additional support. Prerna credited her teachers and family for their encouragement and support in her journey.
She also shared a message for the youth, saying that the younger generation can achieve great success through dedication, hard work and confidence in their own abilities. At present, she is exploring professional opportunities in her field and has also undertaken various skill-enhancing courses in Australia while searching for suitable employment there.
