Jambu Zoo to open for public on May 29, Tirupati Balaji Temple on June 8

TAWI, MAY 27: In a major boost to Jammu potential, ambitious Jambu Zoo near Nagrota will be thrown open to the public on May 29 while the under construction Tirupati Balaji temple is scheduled to open its doors for devotees on June 8.
Official sources said that nearly Rs 70 crore worth Zoo projects were completed in Mid May after which a team of Central Zoo Authority conducted an inspection for the registration purpose in the light of the mandatory clearance obtained by the Department of Wildlife of the Government of Union Territory of Jammu and .
Spread over 3200 kanals of land near Jammu city's Nagrota on Jammu-Srinagar highway, the Zoo is considered as North 's largest Zoo and has become a major tourism highlight for people visiting Kashmir or Mata Vaishno Devi Temple shrine in Katra.
Interestingly the construction work of the Tirupati Balaji temple, located amidst the picturesque Shivalik forests in Majeen here, is in its final phase and the temple is scheduled to open its doors for devotees on June 8. The temple, built on a 62-acre land at an estimated cost of Rs 30 crore, is set to become one of the largest temples in the Jammu region and is expected to boost religious and pilgrimage tourism in the Union Territory.
