Interim Committee discusses Jammu Football

, June 29: Constituted recently by the J&K Football Association (JKFA), the interim committee for DFA Jammu discussed prevailing conditions in the district football and future line of action with special focus on activities on ground.kuldeep Singh, Ramesh Chander, Surinder Sharma.

The five-member team comprising former DFA president and JKFA vice president, Kuldeep Singh; Ramesh Chander, Moon Madan Stephen, Surinder Sharma and Arun Pal Singh had detailed discussion with those stakeholders.

Assigned with the task to handle day to day affairs till an elected body was constituted for DFA Jammu, the members called upon the clubs and academies of Jammu district to chalk out plans for different activities prioritising the registration process.

Members of those affiliated clubs of DFA Jammu, present in the meeting, briefed with regard to the AIFF CRS system and its immediate and long term benefits. of those present were taken on the fee structures and formats of different district leagues in Jammu.

“It was unanimously decided that league structure in Jammu would be altered hereafter with two divisions of senior leagues to be called Elite Division and Premier Division, earlier called A Division and B Division Leagues. Moreover, previously known C Division will be dissolved to be replaced by two new youth leagues of Under-13 and Under-15 age groups to broaden the league structure. While the youth leagues will follow the latest AIFF pattern of Youth leagues with 7v7 games for U-13 and 9v9 games for U-15 age groups,” informed one of the member, Arun Pal Singh.

Prospects of women's and veteran's league were also discussed along with introduction to much trending baby leagues. Some club officials openly and freely expressed their resentment against prevailing situations in Jammu football wherein players have been suffering for want of activity.

Meanwhile, an announcement was made about the forthcoming Under-15 football tournament in Jammu and entire football fraternity was invited for a seminar on ‘Roadmap of Development of Football' at 4:30 pm on July one.

The meeting ended with Moon Madan Stephen presenting the vote of thanks. He thanked the members and assured the clubs and academies of effective and transparent working towards a common goal of football development. He also expressed gratitude to JKFA general secretary Prof. BA Shah and Nazeer Andrabi for entrusting faith in the committee. Later, members condoled the demise of mother of senior referee and coach Dil Bahadur Gurung. Among those prominent who attended the meeting included Mohan Lal, Feasturs Sotra, Saudagar Mattoo and Bharat Bhushan.
