India rejects atrocities charge in Kashmir
Jammu, November 25 (KIP):-India has reacted against the plan of
Pakistan to constitute a committee which would form a detailed report
on the atrocities on people in Kashmir. India has said that there are
not atrocities but those people, under the instigation of Pakistan and
its agencies, clash with the security forces and each case of injuries
is being blown out of proportion.
Official sources said that separatists in Kashmir have
paralyzed life in the valley following their repeated calls for
hartals and shutdowns. These separatists are responsible for clashes
between people and the security forces as they call people to march to
particular places including mosques.
The way successive elections have been held since 1951 is an
indication to the fact that people in Kashmir enjoy full political and
fundamental rights. Does Pakistan tolerate a murmur of criticism in
Baluchistan and in Occupied Kashmir?
In fact Dr Farooq Abdullah is right when he said the other day
that the activities and plans of separatists have brought about a
halt on development works because the ruling coalition of PDP and BJP
is focused on the restoration of peace. People of all walks, traders,
transporters, hoteliers, houseboat owners and small ponywallas and
porters have suffered severe losses. The export trade of apples, fresh
and dry fruit has suffered heavy losses. So has cross border trade
been affected.
The student community has suffered because of educational
institutions' remained closed but the Government came to their rescue
by granting mass promotion to students up to 9th and 11th standard
and those appearing for 12th and 10th special arrangements were made
and the syllabus was reduced by fifty per cent.(KIP)
