New Delhi, Mar 17: The Department of Posts on Tuesday launched three premium delivery services offering 24-hour and 48-hour guaranteed timelines for urgent and time-sensitive consignments.
The services — 24 Speed Post, 24 Speed Post Parcel, and 48 Speed Post — were unveiled by Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia. Initially, they will be available in six major cities: Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad.
The department said it will use dedicated processing systems and priority air transport to ensure timely deliveries. The new services also include OTP-verified delivery, end-to-end tracking, and real-time SMS alerts.
Scindia described the launch as a significant step in modernising India Post, highlighting the rapid growth of India’s e-commerce market, which is projected to reach Rs 30 lakh crore by 2030 from the current Rs 11 lakh crore.
Additional features include ‘Book Now, Pay Later’ options for businesses, centralised billing, API integration, free pickup for bulk consignments, and a money-back guarantee in case of delays. (Agencies)
