    History in the making

Come April 19, 2025, and a new chapter of unity, progress, and connection will be added in the history of the country especially that of J&K as the first train would roll into the heart of Kashmir directly from Jammu’s Katra town after getting a green signal from none other than the Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself. This will be more than a journey through tunnels and across bridges because the inaugural sortie of Vande Bharat Express will ferry Railway employees associated with this dream project of all Indians including the retired ones to Kashmir, after the completion of a network of steel rails all across the mountains. The train to Valley is an engineering marvel, a symbol of national integration, and a lifeline for generations to come. It’s not just infrastructure, rather it’s a feat of human determination and engineering. This will open up new opportunities for trade, tourism, employment, and mobility for the people of J&K and that of the entire nation which is transformative on a ground level. For decades, Kashmir was viewed as remote and inaccessible in many ways. A direct train reaching the Valley from Katra symbolizes unity, connection, and progress, which was something the people of Valley and for that matter the entire nation were waiting for. Reportedly, on April 19, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel from Chenab Railway Bridge to Katra in train during which he will inaugurate and inspect the highest bridge as well as cable stayed Anji bridge, which have become the engineering marvel and are being talked about across the country. After reaching Katra by train, the Prime Minister will flag off Vande Bharat train from Katra to Baramulla and at the same time, he will virtually flag off another train from Baramulla to Katra thus writing a new chapter in the history of J&K with golden ink. All said and done, the lessons which the country has learned from the making of this momentous Railway project are— where there’s a will there is a way, and nothing is impossible. The success of this project is surely going to boost the country and sooner than later the helmsmen will explore more regions for creating similar strategic infrastructure as completion of this project has boosted the morale of all Indians manifold times.
