He walked from Kerala to Kashmir for 75 days to gather material for his book!

Srinagar, Oct (UNI) Passion, devotion and dedication to visit places across India to write a book on different cultures and people, took Krishna Kumar, 75 days long walk on foot to cover a distance of 3300 kilometers from Kerala to reach the ski resort of Gulmarg in Kashmir, it was reported on Saturday.
Kumar, who had a job in the Kerala health department as a temporary staffer, borrowed Rs 100 from his mother with a dream to visit places across the country to know the culture, people and their behaviour which he could pen down in the book he is going to write.
He reached Gulmarg a few days ago after 75 days of travel by foot. “I was planning to undertake the journey six years ago to put my dream in a book”, Kumar said and added presently I am putting down the points in a diary about the people, their culture, behaviour and living standards. The moment my journey comes to a conclusion, ‘I will start writing my book', he said.
Kumar while narrating his tale said, ‘I borrowed Rs 100 from my mother and started my journey on August 9, 2021 by foot from Kerala. Before reaching Gulmarg in Kashmir, I visited several states amid hot weather, rain, hunger and tiredness.'
“Mostly I used to walk on foot, I would ask for a lift only when I felt dead tired. Some people would offer but most would refuse”, he said.
Kumar said that I love to interact with people and mingle with them to know their point of view about their dreams in life.
Kumar knows a little bit of magic which he occasionally displayed on roadsides to entertain people.
‘People do offer me money and I accept, but I am not asking for it', he said and added “I am also selling different kinds of balloons for Rs 5 or Rs 10 to get money for my survival while travelling”.
He said that on reaching Gulmarg I was in a fix as to how I manage my sojourn here.
‘If you have money it is easy to travel from one place to another and can eat whatever you like but when you don't have money lots of questions arise in your mind on how to survive and reach the places' Kumar said.
He said that after seeing a billboard on my haversack “from Kerala to Kashmir ” the local people approached me and offered accommodation and food.
“Local people provided me with a comfortable place to stay in and provided me with food, clothes and everything without knowing me”, he added.
Praising the nature of people of Kashmir, he said in Kerala or on news channels we hear Kashmir is a dangerous place to visit but the people of Kashmir are very helpful and lovely. “Honestly I want to stay here”, he said.
“I collected a lot of stories on the way which I will put in my book. I want to motivate people about the importance of travelling from one place to another,” Kumar said.
He said that I actually don't want to visit tourist destinations but to know the people, their nature, behaviour, culture and living style which made me take such long journeys to be able to write in my book.
