Chief Minister of Haryana, Nayab Singh Saini recently distributed financial assistance worth over Rs 100 crore that will benefit more than 83,000 residents of the state. In an event held in the city of Panipat, the CM provided pension worth Rs 22.59 crore to over 75,000 senior citizens under the state's social security scheme. He also approved housing grants where Rs 15.09 crore was distributed to 2,000 homeowners for repair works. Additionally, 6,300 households each received entitlement letters guaranteeing Rs 1 lakh funding for new 100-125 square yard homes through the Chief Minister Rural Housing Initiative. In total, these housing programs are expected to generate approximately Rs 63 crore in economic stimulus for residents.
Speaking at the event, CM Saini highlighted how the double engine governments at the centre and state are dedicated to empowering low-income communities. He contrasted this approach to the previous administration that he said allowed middlemen and unnecessary processes to obstruct benefits from reaching the deserving. Saini assured citizens that all welfare programs under his leadership offer direct cash transfers without intervention. The CM also recognized other pivotal schemes for pensioners, where the monthly stipend has increased from Rs 2,000 to Rs 3,000 and now covers over 20 lakh elderly citizens across Haryana.
