Handwara family alleges murder of their daughter

Kupwara, June 13 (KNO): A 32-year-old woman was found dead at her husband's house under mysterious circumstances, with her family alleging that she was murdered by in-laws in Kakroosa village of Handwara in north 's Kupwara district on Monday.

As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the women (name withheld) found dead under mysterious circumstances at her husband's home this morning. After hearing it, the family members of the victim have alleged that her in-laws strangled her to death as they had been harassing her continuously.

They also registered a protest demonstration and demanded stern action against culprits involved in her death. “Expressing hope that police will initiate action in the matter, a family member alleged that their daughter was being regularly tortured by her in-laws,” they said.

Meanwhile, a police official said that an inquest has been initiated in the case under Section 174 of the CrPC and further investigation in going on—(KNO)
