    FIR against former Dy Comm Budgam for illegal appointment

    Srinagar, Aug 8: Vigilance Organization (VOK) has registered a case under Prevention of Corruption Act on outcome of a verification conducted by Vigilance Organization Kashmir into the allegations of illegal appointment of Mohammad Iqbal Wani S/o Rahim Wani R/o Lalpora, Beerwah Budgam Jr. Assistant against available post in Department in the Pay Scale of 950-1500 under SRO 43.

    The verification conducted established that the reference to  SRO No. 43 is illegal as compassionate appointment of a person can be done only in case of a person who is a family member of deceased person as defined under Rule (2) of SRO 43.  The Rule does not cover the beneficiary appointee Mohammad Iqbal Wani S/o Rehim Wani R/o Lalpora Beerwah Budgam who had sustained injuries and the appointment as such is illegal.

    Accordingly a case vide number 22/2017 under section 5(1)(d) r/w 5(2) J&K P.C. Act, Svt., 2006 and 120-B RPC in Police Station Vigilance Organization Kashmir was registered.
