Don’t lower the guards!

Date:

With the unlocking of the Covid SoPs restrictions in most of the districts following the decrease in the number of positive cases with each passing day was obvious and inevitable. Noting the less number of admissions of Covid patients in hospitals, the effect of the second wave of Covid-19 has diminished seemingly to a large extent, however, this has also resulted in lowering of guard against Covid by the masses which can pose serious threat and lay the base for the predicted third wave, warn experts.
The latest reports said that the Covid Delta variant has already spread to nearly 100 countries has been engaging the nations to its fullest extent. Another Covid variant ‘Lambeda' which the experts have termed more dangerous and fatalist and has also knocked 31 countries across the globe. The developing scenario has caused alarm among the governments of many nations which are preparing to take on the further and worsening Covid challenges.
The decrease in Covid positive cases and the number of covid deaths is an encouraging indication of winning the fight against Second Covid Wave, however, the experts cautioned that the decline of the second wave has resulted in a non-serious attitude among people towards Covid Appropriate Behavior, adherence to SOPs particularly wearing of masks and physical distancing. Such behaviour poses a serious threat to the third wave of Coronavirus is predicted to be knocking the people with a stronger punch.
Experts say that the third wave of Covid is highly dangerous, fatal and can take a heavy toll on lives and suggested that in order to keep the impact of the third wave under control people need to follow the previously fixed guidelines.
Crowding the markets, resorts and marriage ceremonies without wearing masks and no regard for social distance is unsolicited and unbecoming behaviour.
What is important is that in the interest and safety of our families and society, we need to act responsibly in every domain of life and social interaction.
It is well-acknowledged fact that people mostly remained confined to homes for one and half years and are eager to start their normal life and people may go out to attend to their needs but strict adherence to Covid Appropriate Behavior is needed to avoid possible third wave.
It is, therefore, emphasized on the vaccination and termed it as a strong and the only tool to fight against covid disease while observing the SoPs holistically.
The vaccination of elderly people has been almost completed; now, all individuals above 18 years should get themselves vaccinated as per the schedule without fail. It would prove a protective cover indeed!
