Jammu Tawi: Sunil Dimple, President Mission Statehood, led a protest rally on Sunday from Amphalla and New Plot to Janipur High Court Chowk in which hundreds of traders participated. The protest aimed at demanding the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood, the resumption of the Darbar Move, and the reinstatement of the region’s special status.

Addressing the protesters, Dimple urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to announce in the upcoming Parliament session that the Darbar Move would be reinstated. He highlighted the significant losses faced by traders since the cessation of the Darbar Move, which historically shifted the seat of government between Jammu and Srinagar twice a year.

Dimple also called for the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s Dogra state special status, along with the state subject laws, and demanded that the government implement the conditions of the Instrument of Accession. He said the region’s economic hardships were compounded by the government’s actions, which, according to him, have contributed to rising unemployment and a deteriorating business environment for traders, transporters, and hoteliers.

The protest was also marked by Dimple’s strong condemnation of the alleged bribery scandals involving industrialist Gautam Adani, which he claimed were hurting the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Dimple accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government of ignoring the economic crisis caused by its policies, further exacerbating the suffering of the region’s people.

“We will continue our struggle to restore Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood, special status, and Article 370,” Dimple declared. He promised that his movement would persist both politically and judicially until the region’s statehood was fully restored and the historic rights of its people were reinstated, including efforts to unify Jammu and Kashmir with Ladakh, and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoJK) and Gilgit-Baltistan.
