Sir,
This is in reference to the news story “SVC becomes victim of official apathy” published in the columns of your esteemed Daily on the front page on 29.06.2017. We have minutely studied what has been published regarding SVC that was a white elephant from day one. Those who are fighting against the monster of graft know as to how SVC has been operating. Funnily its recommendations remained mostly unimplemented. People believe now in general that no works can be done without bribing officials and if SVC has written on these lines it is not something extraordinary. SVC has reportedly asked several departments to provide the requisite NOCs to the applicants through a single window but nothing concrete happened.
Mr. Vohra with due respects as usual displayed dismay. What else he could do? At the end of the day State Vigilance Commission has been reduced to a toothless tiger. Even the former members were not men of steel. It has now become a rehabilitation department for accommodating those retired top ranking officers who have kept the J&K Govt. in good humour. Who does not know that dear Kuldeep Khoda was close to Omar Abdullah and even P. C. Chidambaram? There is a rumour mill among Police walas that Khoda was aspiring for the slot of the Governor. Tragically it did not mature and insiders informed us that of late he visited USA to study behavior. Let him share his new found knowledge with others also especially us so that J&K is restored to its pristine glory.
Yours truly,
