Jammu Tawi, January 3 (KIP): Are the RSS and its offspring the BJP that favours abrogation of Article 370 anti-national? Yes they seem to be in the eyes of the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti. The Article 370 grants a very special status to Jammu Kashmir within union of India and is untouchable.
Mehbooba Mufti has described those demanding revocation of
Article 370 as anti-national. For years together the RSS and the BJP
have been berated by the communists and by the Kashmir centric
politicians as staunch ultra-nationalists.
Well voters in the Kashmir valley are opposed to the
revocation of Article 370 as they want to retain special status of the
state. Mehbooba is right when she has stated that revocation of
Article 370 may not resolve the Kashmir problem, in order to woo voters
in the Kashmir valley, which actually is its political base for the PDP, she has
rubbed the RSS in the wrong way.
She has not blamed the BJP for demanding revocation of Article 370
because she is not interested in breaking the alliance. In a veiled
attack on the Sangh Parivar, Mehbooba termed Article 370 as a “shield”
to protect uniqueness of the state. “There are some forces in the
country which are trying to create an impression that the Kashmir
problem could be solved by the abrogation of Article 370,” she said,
adding, “Article 370 protects uniqueness of the state which is shining
example of communal harmony and brotherhood.
