Army saves life of young girl in Budhal
Rajouri, January 8
Army came to the rescue of a minor girl in dire need of medical help while facing difficulty in breathing by providing her the medical aid and oxygen in an Army ambulance.
Heavy snowfall for the past two days at Budhal in Rajouri forced residents to remain within doors.
Ulfat Naz, 15, a tuberculosis patient, fell sick and was brought to the Govt. Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Budhal facing great difficulty covering long snow-bound distance. But at the PHC family found neither any doctor nor any ambulance. A private medical shop too could not be any help on approaching.
An intelligence personnel posted at Budhal contacted the Commanding Officer of 60 Rashtriya Rifles at Samote for help who promptly arranged an ambulance and a doctor rushed to Budhal.
The girl was provided medical treatment and oxygen in the ambulance and after she became stable, she was brought to the unit health centre at Samote with her family members.
“As the girl became stable after timely treatment, she was later sent to the district hospital in a private vehicle by the Army where she is stable now,” said an Army officer.
Pertinent to add here that most of the Primary Health Centres in remote and rural areas remain without doctors and medical aids.
