Poonch, Nov 19: An alert has been sounded in Mendhar sub-division of Jammu Division's Poonch's District after a suspicious drone like object was spotted over villages near Line of Control in the area on Friday.
The suspected object with blinking lights was seen flying over villages including Souian, Lanjiote, Dhargaloon and others in the area located in the vicinity of Line of Control.
“That many villagers claimed to have seen this object after which an alert has been sounded and forces have stepped up security in the area and searches are also going on,” the official said. “Possibility of this drone being used for weapon dropping or aerial surveillance from across cannot be ruled out.”
