Dereliction of duty cites reason by the administration to suspend the officer
Srinagar 04 June : In the wake of the Budgam girl’s death after a leopard mauled her to death, DC Budgam Syed Shahbaz Mirza on Friday suspended a range officer based on his negligence towards the duty.
District Administration Budgam in a tweet said that DC Budgam suspends Range Officer Wildlife Deptt. Ompora for dereliction of duties in the backdrop of leopard mauling 4-year-old girl to death.
It further said that “Chairs Emergency meeting, key decisions taken in meeting to avert any further such unfortunate incidents in future.”
It is pertinent to mention that the district administration has already ordered to kill the leopard involved in the eating of the four-year-old girl on Thursday evening.
Following the tragic incident of mauling the girl to death, one of the locals told reporters on Friday that the adjacent forest in the area should be destroyed. The locals believed that the animal had come from the forest area.
They were fuming with anger after the incident and complained about the negligence of the government and concerned authorities due to which the unfortunate incident took place. (KNB)
