Section 144 CrPC in Sgr: 73 FIRs registered against norm violators, say Police

    Srinagar, Apr 28 (KNO): Srinagar Police on Wednesday claimed to have registered 73 FIRs under section 188/269 IPC for violation of 144 CrPC restrictions imposed on assembly of people within Municipal limits of Srinagar City due to prevailing COVID pandemic.

    According to a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), spokesman said that violations of section 144 were observed at multiple places in the City and police booked the violators in large number.

    Earlier in the day, various officers of Srinagar Police including Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Srinagar Sandeep Chaudhary conducted checking for violations at multiple places in the City.

    Meanwhile, Srinagar Police urged the people of the City to follow the government advisories, orders strictly in order to have an appropriate response against COVID-19 from the community side—(KNO)

    Nunner attack: Chargesheet filed against militant OGWs

    Ganderbal, Apr 28: Ganderbal police on Wednesday said that it has filed a chargesheet against the militant associates involved in Nunner attack case.

    A police spokesman said that on 06-10-2020, in the evening hours, militants carried out an attack on BJP District Vice President at his native village Nunner Ganderbal.

    “The militants fired upon the protected person, however the PSOs quickly retaliated back resulting in on-spot death of one militant namely Shabir Ahmad Shah, son of Abdul Gani Shah of Jangalnar Awantipora,” spokesman said.

    During the brief exchange of fire, one PSO Ct Altaf Hussain also got seriously injured and later succumbed to injuries, he said, adding that arms and ammunition were also recovered from the killed militant.

    “In this regard, a case under FIR number 209/2020 under section 302 IPC, 7/25, 7/27 I.A Act, 3/4 Exp. Sub. Act 13, 16, 18, 20, 23, 39 UA (P) Act was registered in Police Station Ganderbal. During the course of investigation, three active associates of HM identified as Qaiser Ahmad Sheikh, son of Noor Mohammad, Aasif Khazir Mir, son of Khazir Mohammad Mir of Serch Ganderbal and Hilal Ahmad Mir, son of Ghulam Rasool of Burnbugh Kangan were arrested in the instant case, as all three were part of criminal conspiracy and worked as OGWs with HM in carrying out attack on the said BJP leader,” the statement said.

    “Arms and ammunitions, detonators, Pak flags were recovered on their disclosures and investigation concluded. After obtaining the sanction of prosecution form the Government of UT of J&K, Challan against the three accused persons was produced before the court of law for its judicial determination,” police said.
