Gunmen decamp with Rs 2 lakh cash, rifle from JK Bank in Budgam

    Budgam, Mar 24 (KNO): Unknown gunmen on Wednesday noon entered a JK Bank branch Chandapora in Budgam district and decamped with Rs 2 lakh cash and one 12-borne rifle from a bank guard.

    According to the news agency— Kashmir News Observer (KNO), some unknown gunmen entered the branch of JK Bank at Chandapora and fired some shots on the wall of the bank and looted Rs 2 lakh cash and a 12-borne rifle.

    SSP Budgam Tahir Saleem confirmed the incident to KNO and added that he visited the spot personally. “Case has been registered and investigations started,” he said.

    However, its pertinent to mention that it is second incident in past nine days in Kashmir, as on March 16, three armed men had looted Rs 3.5 lakh from a Grameen Bank branch at Panzinara area of Srinagar outskirts—(KNO)
