As part of Road Safety Week, an awareness camp was organized by the Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) on the theme “Sadak Suraksha Jeevan Raksha” here at General Bus Stand. Over 150 passenger vehicle drivers and conductors of the district participated in the programme. Addressing the camp, ARTO Rajesh Gupta sought cooperation of drivers and conductors in spreading the message of road safety and making the road safety week a big success. He asked them to avoid over speeding, use of mobile phone while driving, drunken driving, wrong overtaking, racing and underage driving to prevent loss of precious human lives.
The ARTO further asked the participants to take all necessary measures and follow the traffic rules strictly for their own safety. He stressed upon the youth to wear helmet or seat belt to avoid fatal injuries and follow traffic rules to avoid frequent road accidents.
