Dir Agri reviews progress of Farmers’ Welfare Schemes

Director , Jammu, Hari Krishan Razdan today reviewed the progress of implementation of several Farmers' Welfare Schemes and programmes here in a meeting.
The physical and financial achievements under various Centrally Sponsored and State Sector Schemes of all the districts were discussed threadbare during the meeting.
Director Agriculture emphasized on for diversification of the farming through vegetable cultivation, apiculture, mushroom growing and adoption of Integrated Farming System.
He impressed upon the concerned officers to make all out efforts for dissemination of Technological Interventions and Improved Agricultural Practices for increasing the production of agricultural crops.
Director Agriculture directed the field functionaries to reach out to the farmer's field to make them fully aware for various schemes like Soil Health Card Scheme (SHCS), Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), Kisan Credit Card Scheme (KCCS), Mission on Agriculture Extension & Technology (NMAET-ATMA), Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) and many alike.
He asked the officers to monitor the updation with the latest guidelines and norms of several Centrally Sponsored and State Sector Schemes and awareness regarding use of latest agriculture machinery.
Meanwhile, a manual on Paddy Drum Seeder compiled by SCA, Arun Jaral was also released by Director Agriculture.
It was informed that the Paddy Drum Seeder reduces the cost of cultivation as per trials conducted in Jammu District. Hence, it is being popularized among the farmers to save the labour and irrigation water to boost the paddy production.
Joint Director of Agriculture (Inputs), K S Sambyal and Joint Director, Agriculture (SLUB/Extension) Jammu, Bulesh Zutshi also interacted with the officers on various implementations, inputs and extension related issues and problems.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Director Trainings, Sunil Koul, Agronomist Vegetables, HD Sharma, CAO Jammu/Samba, Narender Mishra, CAO Reasi/Udhampur, O S Choudhary, CAO Doda, Sunil Koul, Agriculture Chemist, R K Bindroo, Agriculture Engineer, M I Khateeb, CAO Rajouri, MY Choudhary, CAO Kathua, Arun Gupta, CAO Poonch,Anoop Gupta, Agriculture Economist, K K Sharma, Deputy Director Central, Jagmohan Bhat, Deputy Director Planning, Rishu Gupta besides other senior officers.
