Srinagar, Aug 26, CNS: Army have asked people to ignore the call given by separatist leadership to march towards Badamibagh based Army camp in Srinagar on 27 August even as it asked the separatist amalgam not to drag Army into the .

Pertinently, separatists leadership have urged upon people to dispatch letters to armed forces including Army, BSF, CRPF, ITBP, CISF and march towards 14 Core of Indian Army on Saturday (Aug 27) at Badami Bagh and ask the GoC to vacate and .

“We don't want confrontation with common people and thus make sincere appeal to them to ignore the call. We are not here to confront common people even during the turmoil our convoy's stopped plying on the road during the day time, just to avoid confrontation with people,” a Srinagar based official told.

Asserting that Army has been at the forefront of rescue and relief missions during natural calamities, Brar said “army will continue to work for the safety, welfare and empowerment of the people”.

The official said the Hurriyat programme of protesting outside army camps was a deliberate attempt to embroil the army in the ongoing agitation and distract it from its primary role of guarding the borders and countering insurgency.
