Preparations for Measles Rubella Campaign reviewed

Deputy Commissioner Doda Simrandeep Singh today chaired a meeting of the District Level Task Force for “Measles Rubella (MR) Vaccination Campaign” to be held in the month of September 2018 in the district.
Chief Medical Officer, Chief officer, Principals Govt and Private institutions, NGO workers and other officers were present in the meeting.
During the meeting, a detailed discussion was held on MR vaccination campaign implementation strategy besides other key aspects of the vaccination campaign in the district. it was given out that All children from 09 months to less than 15 years of age will be given a single shot of Measles Rubella (MR) vaccination during the campaign.
The Deputy Commissioner who is also the Chairman, District Level Task Force for MR Immunization called upon all the line departments, educational institutions besides other stakeholders and organizations to extend their full cooperation and support within their respective areas to ensure successful conduct of the campaign.
The DC asked the DLTF to increase number of teams and days in case of schools with high number of enrolment. He further instructed the CEO to ensure the 100% presence of the students during the vaccination day so that no children are left without vaccination.
DDC also directed CEO to nominate two officials from each school for training at block headquarters. He also emphasized the important of ensuring there is a massive mass media campaign about the programme.
