    Kathua Railway Station Re-named After Martyr Captain Sunil Kumar Choudhary

    Jammu, Jan 30: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has approved the renaming of Kathua Railway Station in honour of Martyr Captain Sunil Kumar Choudhary, paying tribute to his supreme sacrifice for the nation.

    According to Government Order No. 129-JK (GAD) of 2026, issued by the General Administration Department, the station will now be officially known as “Martyr Captain Sunil Kumar Choudhary Kathua Railway Station”. The renamed station will carry the designation in both English and Hindi.

    The order, dated January 29, 2026, was issued by the Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, M. Raju, IAS, by the order of the Lieutenant Governor.

    The decision reflects the government’s commitment to honouring the bravery and valour of armed forces personnel who laid down their lives in the service of the country. By associating the martyr’s name with a prominent public landmark, the move aims to keep alive the memory of his sacrifice among citizens and future generations.
