New Delhi, Dec 29: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet eminent economists and sectoral experts on Tuesday to seek their inputs for the Union Budget 2026–27, a senior government official said.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is scheduled to present the Budget on February 1, amid global geopolitical uncertainties and concerns over a steep 50 per cent US tariff imposed on Indian shipments.
The consultation meeting will also be attended by NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Suman Bery, CEO BVR Subrahmanyam, and other members of the Aayog, officials said. (Agencies)
