Ganderbal, Oct 24: Ganderbal Police have booked three hoteliers in Sonamarg for allegedly failing to submit details of foreign tourists to the Foreigners Registration Office (FRO) within the stipulated time, violating the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025.
The action followed a comprehensive inspection drive in Sonamarg under the supervision of SSP Ganderbal Khalil Ahmad Poswal (JKPS). Police found that Hotel Mount View, Hotel Imperial Resort, and Hotel Village Walk were accommodating foreign nationals without timely reporting their particulars, as required under Section 17 of the Act.
Separate FIRs — No. 25/2025, 26/2025, and 27/2025 — were registered under Section 8/23(b) of the Act against the hotel owners.
Authorities have urged all hotels and guesthouses hosting foreign tourists to strictly comply with legal guidelines and promptly submit guest details to the FRO.
Ganderbal Police said they remain committed to enforcing the law and ensuring accountability in the hospitality sector.
