In a tragic incident yesterday, a Haryana Roadways bus carrying schoolchildren overturned near Pinjore in Panchkula district, leaving around 40 children and 10 others injured. As per official sources, the accident took place when the overloaded bus took a turn sharply. Most of the injured were rushed to nearby hospitals in Panchkula and are said to be out of danger. The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation.
Officials confirm that overloading and suspected overspeeding may have contributed to the loss of control. The bus was transporting children back from their schools when the unfortunate accident occurred. Rescue operations were immediately launched and injured passengers were attended to. Top officials including the Panchkula Deputy Commissioner and the local MLA visited the hospital to check on the condition of the injured. Two drivers have been suspended and a thorough probe has been ordered into the incident.
Authorities say the top priority in such situations is the swift rescue and medical care of all passengers. Most children suffered minor injuries fortunately. One 60-year-old woman near the accident spot was notably injured severely and referred to a higher facility. This bus mishap has once again highlighted the importance of road safety awareness and ensuring compliance of traffic rules to avoid such tragedies in the future.
