J&K Boxing Champ gets underway

, Mar 29: Organised by the J&K Amateur Boxing Association, the three-day J&K UT Boxing Championship started today under the aegis of Boxing Federation of and J&K Olympic Association at MA Stadium, here today.

“Sponsored by J&K Council, boxers from all over the UT, representing districts of Jammu, Srinagar, Poonch, Rajouri, Ramban, Udhampur, Pulwama, Samba, Kathua, Doda and Baramulla are participating in this competition,” informed general secretary of the Association, Rajan Sharma.

The competition is being officiated by the technical penal comprising Harimder

Pal Singh, Anil Wadhera, Rajneesh Kumar, Farooq Ahmad, Naresh Kumar, Rajesh Dogra, Gautam Kumar, Mushtaq Ahmad, Ishtiyaq Ahmad and Sandeep Singh.

The Detailed (preliminary round) Results:

Sub Junior Boys: 35-37 kg: Amaan Ul Haq of Poonch bt Kishna of Kathua. 43-46 kg: Mohit  Udhampur defeated Peer zada Mohd of Baramulla.  46-49 kg: Mohd Fail, Pooch bt Umar, Pulwama; Anukulp Gour, Udhampur bt Kirsten Ramban. 33-35 kg: Umar Bashir, Pooch bt Abhinav, Udhampur. 35-37 kg: Rohit Sharma, Jammu bt Yashpal, Udhampur. 37-40 kg: Umar Farooq, Poonch bt Aryan, Udhampur. 40-43 kg: Amir, Rajouri bt Arsh, Udhampur. 43-46 kg: Lalit Khajuria, Kathua bt Mohit, Udhampur. 46-49 kg: Mohd Faisal, Pooch bt Kulbir Singh. 49 52: Mohd. Yasir, Rajouri bt Bhanu, Kathua; Rehman Ahmed, Poonch bt Aniket Singh, Udhampur. 52-55 kg: Mudasir Ahmad, Poonch bt Abhinav, Kathua; Mohd Bhat, Pulwama bt Abu Amnaz, Rajouri.
