Tawi, March 16: A meeting of the Joint House Committee (JHC) of Jammu and Legislature, constituted to look into the alleged medical negligence into the death of son of MLC, Ramesh Arora in GMC Jammu was held here today under the Chairmanship of Ghulam Nabi Monga.

Legislators, Dr Bashir Ahmad Shah Veeri, Firdous Ahmad Tak, Sham Lal Bhagat, Naresh Kumar Gupta and Ramesh Arora also attended the meeting.

The Committee held detailed discussion on the preliminary report submitted by the SSP () and Govt Medical College authorities on the matter. It enquired about the treatment, medical investigations and other aspects related to the death of Sadhya Arora.

The Chairman of the House Committee directed the Secretary Legislative Council to forward the questionnaire to the concerned within week's time after it is framed by Dr Bashir Ahmad Shah Veeri and Dr Shehnaz Ganai.

The Committee also suggested to Chairman to visit different hospitals in Jammu city to ascertain as to whether the SoPs are being followed for the overall benefit of the patients. The suggestion was agreed by the Chairman and Secretary was directed in this regard to fix the date for the visit.

Among others, Secretary Legislative Council, Abdul Majid Bhat besides senior officers and officials of Council Secretariat were also present in the meeting.
