After dry spell, Weatherman predicts rains in next 24 hours

‘Isolated places may receive rain'

Srinagar, Feb 15 (KNS): After a week long dry spell, the weatherman on Wednesday predicted light to moderate rains at isolated places over the next 24 hours across the Valley.

Talking to KNS, the Director Meteorological department (MeT) Sonam Lotus said, “There is possibility of light to moderate rains/thunder shower at isolated places in the next 24 hours across the state.”

He said that there is possibility of occasional sunshine as well. “The would likely improve after Feb 16,” he said.

Pertinently, the Valley received heavy snowfall in the past weeks, which resulted in the closure of 300 km long Srinagar- highway for couple of days.

The heavy snowfall also led to the damage of more than 300 PDD transformers thereby resulted in hardships among the inhabitants of several areas. (KNS)
